"Marching" up to Bempton Cliffs

Inbound with a "gift" for my beloved!

A rather challenging local exercise walk to the cliffs this morning, blowin' a hooley, combined with icy, horizontal rain enhanced my "enjoyment! Still, with both myself and Symphony in our waterproofs we survived!

I think everything had hunkered down or departed for the relative safety of the sea. Gannets were the dominant birds with thousands on the ledges, sea and in flight. Fulmars in their low hundreds, but no sign of any Auks or Kittiwakes.

Gannets

Gannets with "gifts" for their beloved

Gannets are violent birds and get into squabbles and fights on the ledges, sometimes in flight and on the sea. These altercations can go on for considerable amounts of time.

"One flew over the Gannet fight!"

Managed to capture a "ghostly" Fulmar

A random Pheasant in an attempt to add a little colour!

Please stay safe on your LOCAL exercise walk in nature.
