A Morning of "Volatile" Light!, Bempton - 17th October 2023

Wow! What a start to the day! I had intended to walk up to the cliffs but the morning was dark, dull and drizzling, so decided to abort that plan. A little later, I looked out of the kitchen window, only to see a "volatile" light to the east. Grabbed my camera and rushed outside!

After a while, the light changed again as the sun started to emerge from the low clouds

Went back to the house and decided to take Symphony for a walk through Bempton & Buckton. The weather looked good. WRONG! Just as we headed to Buckton, a deluge of rain hit us and we were soaked before waterproofs could be donned. Symphony was not at all happy! Despite the rain, I was able to capture the rainbow that formed over Buckton

Despite being wet, we continued....meeting a couple that had been up Hoddy Cows Lane and only had a few spots of drizzle!

Conditions remained threatening for the remainder of our walk

That is, until we returned home, when blue sky and sunshine appeared! The joys of early morning photography!

Scarborough Area Walk (Birds) - 14th October 2023

Grey Heron, Scalby Beck

A pleasant walk in the Scarborough area, blue sky, sunshine but a cool breeze. A walk around the harbour did not produce much, so it was off to Scalby Mills, open air theatre and Peasholm Park, before returning to Scalby Mills. Some of the birds along the way......

Scarborough Area Walk - 14th October 2023

Scarborough Harbour Sunrise

Heather needed dropping off at Seamer Station just before 0700hrs this morning, giving me and Symphony the opportunity to head over to Scarborough for the sunrise. I was not to be disappointed! Starting at Scarborough Harbour, we then moved over to Scalby Mills.

Derelict engineering remnants from the long abandoned "Marvells" chair lift in north bay. I believe a proposal has been made for a "thrilling" zipwire !

Bempton & Buckton Walk - 12th October 2023

A later than normal walk through the villages of Bempton & Buckton, on a pleasant, sunny morning and temperatures on the rise. Below is a compilation of images that took my fancy along the way.
