Hoddy Cows Lane to Buckton Cliffs and RSPB Jubilee Corner

True "Gannet" Love!

Hoddy Cows Lane, Buckton to Buckton Cliffs has been endowed recently with some exciting birds and it was with enthusiasm that I headed along its length early this morning! It started well with a Greenshank on Buckton Pond and a Buzzard in the field beyond. Otherwise, the walk was rather quiet with very little visible bird life.

Buzzard

The sky was rather interesting and begged to be photographed!

And with a little "dramatic" licence!

I decided to walk along the cliff path to RSPB Jubilee Corner where I was entertained by the Gannets!

Its a bit tight on this ledge!

You mean I've got to glide down there?

Really? Down THERE?

True Gannet Love!

A stretch in the sun!

What shall we do today?

Fulmar (Investigating Kittiwake nests!)

And finally, A very important post!

RSPB Bempton Cliffs in the Mist - Challenges can be fun (Part 2) - 28th August 2016

Duelling Gannets!

As I write this blog, the sun is shining and the sky is blue! However, yesterday was totally different with a day long persistent sea fret challenging the views from the cliffs SEE HERE! However, it was fun to sea the birds through the mist and [very] occasionally a brighter spell allowed an "enhanced" image!

Bon Voyage & God Speed! Having photographed the Gannet family that I am following at Bartlett Nab on Friday, today, the Guga had fledged from the cliffs, but one parent remained!

With many Gugas being seen to fledge, a few very young birds remain

Gifts for my beloved!

RSPB Bempton Cliffs in the Mist! Challenges can be fun! (Part 1)

An "Omen"?

This morning we woke to a Sea Fret that was to stay with us all day! Not at all the best day to spend on the cliffs BUT, being positive, I decided to make it a challenge and take images that had an "atmospheric" feel about them! In short, I had a thoroughly enjoyable day and everyone I met on the viewpoints (did I say "view"?) echoed my enthusiasm! SEE HERE for other images!

When I arrived in the car park, my attention was drawn to this large murmuration of Starlings on the wires, just begging to be photographed!

The cliffs (when visible) adorned the mist, adding to the atmospheric feel!

Gannets in the mist!

Have the Cows come home yet?

A little bit of colour with this cheeky chappy!

Please feel free to share these posts for no reason!

I have no firm evidence as to what Gannets do in November and December but I strongly suspect they will be helping Santa!
