A Walk Around Bempton And Buckton

Grape Hyacinth

Literally a day of two halves! Heavy and persistent rain in the morning and sunny periods throughout the afternoon!  As a result, todays walk was undertaken in the afternoon and encompassed the villages of both Bempton and Buckton. A few very general images of things that took my fancy......!

It'll never get off the ground at that slow speed!

A little more "lensball" aka "chrystal ball photography

Bridlington Harbour

Turnstone

A dull start to the day with a cool blow down on Brid Harbour, but at least it was dry. It was high tide and most of the birds were, how can I put it?, elsewhere! Managed a few though! Had a go using a Crystal Ball for the first time! (see end of blog page).

The Iconic Gansey Girl

A recent present of a crystal ball (for photography, and no, I'm not setting up as Gypsy Kevin!) enabled me to indulge in a different type of photography. My first attempts......

Comments and advice welcome!

Bempton & Buckton Pond to Pond Wander

Bempton Pond Pump

A very local change of scenery this morning with a walk from Bempton Pond to Buckton Pond! The cliffs are fantastic, but occasionally you need something else and different. Images that caught my attention along the way.

White Dead Nettle

Dandelion (Hated by so many, but a source of survival for insects, particularly Bees in early spring)

RSPB Bempton Cliffs

Puffins

A beautiful day with sunshine and blue sky in the morning, but cloudier in the afternoon. An annoying onshore blow was rather chilly!

Many visitors today so it was good that the cliffs were full with good numbers of the main breeding seabirds, especially Puffins, so they went home happy! Off the cliffs was also good with Peregrine, Barn Owl, Short-eared Owl, Ring Ousels, Wheatear, Common Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Linnets, Kestrel, Meadow Pipits, Skylarks et al.

I have adopted a new philosophy - I see what I see when I see it! No more chasing birds which only leads to disappointment!
