RSPB Bempton Cliffs

Puffins

A beautiful day with sunshine and blue sky in the morning, but cloudier in the afternoon. An annoying onshore blow was rather chilly!

Many visitors today so it was good that the cliffs were full with good numbers of the main breeding seabirds, especially Puffins, so they went home happy! Off the cliffs was also good with Peregrine, Barn Owl, Short-eared Owl, Ring Ousels, Wheatear, Common Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Linnets, Kestrel, Meadow Pipits, Skylarks et al.

I have adopted a new philosophy - I see what I see when I see it! No more chasing birds which only leads to disappointment!

  1. Good to read one of your blogs after all this time - wish it had occurred to me earlier to look for you on Twitter. Hubby and I will be visiting Bempton on 10th and 11th June, perhaps we'll see you then. Take care and keep up the blogging!

  2. Hello, and thank you for your comment. I'm glad you have found my blog, which I hope will keep you updated on the local birding scene. Unfortunately, I will be away on the dates of your intended visits. I'm sure you will have a great time at Bempton.
