Bempton Circular Walk

Frost

A very pleasant start to the day with a heavy overnight frost, blue sky and sunny periods. It did not feel too cold as the wind strength had abated to a gentle kiss 😇.

I was a little too late to capture the sun rising, so had to make do with a post sunrise! I even managed to create a DVD disc with the image below!

And these frosty furrows caught my eye

Bird wise, it was rather quiet! The Auks (Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins) have again departed the ledges, but a few could be seen in rafts on the sea. Gannet numbers on the ledges were also down, almost to February levels and Fulmars hard to find. Kittiwake rafts on the sea were encouraging in numbers but only a few on the cliffs. One of the Barn Owls hunted and I'm told that a Shorteared Owl also appeared.

When things are tough, it is always nice to receive a few supporting posts! 😇
