Bempton Circular Walk

Bempton Cliffs

A bright morning but still a tad chilly with a moderate north westerly blow. It was a morning to keep walking, not only to keep warm but there was little birdlife / wildlife to wow at! Thank goodness conditions were "atmospheric"!

That sky!

Concerningly, there were few birds on the cliffs. Even the Gannet numbers were well down. I've seen more Gannets on the cliffs at the start of their return in February! Considering there had been thousands only a week or so ago, I worry that some of the early breeders may have suffered losses. Lets hope they return soon.

For those interested in "cliff porn" here are some images of the virtually "naked" cliffs!

I did manage to get close to one of the few Gannets!

One of the Barn Owls hunted distantly

And a distant Peregrine maintained a watch

Even the passerines were hunkered down but I did manage this Yellowhammer

And finally, the "Gateway to Filey"

All images taken handheld with Sony RX10 mk4.
