Northumberland, Seahouses - 6th September 2021

Spotted Redshank

A short break in Northumberland, based in Belford, saw us heading out to Budle Bay, Bamburgh and Seahouses. We were soon to learn that the normally quiet spots were rammed with humans and disturbance was huge. Most people seemed to be totally bored, wandering around aimlessly and unable to relate to the natural beauty around them. We joked that they were like this because they couldn't go to Spain! Anyway, lets make the most of our short stay!

The day did produce some year ticks with Spotted Redshank and Goosander. Interestingly, there were several Guillemots and even a Razorbill around Seahouses harbour.

The small pool between Bamburgh and Seahouses was worthwhile with this Spotted Redshank

Also here, Stonechat

On to Seahouses and "Cuddy Ducks" (St Cuthberts Ducks, Common Eider)

Interestingly, Guillemots and scope view of Razorbill
