Bempton Cliffs Circular Walk - 24th September 2021

On this day, twenty seven years ago, we were joined together in marriage. Happy Anniversary dearest Heather 💖.

Today dawned bright and the moon shone down over Bempton

I set out later than normal and I was soon informed that I had missed an "excellent" sunrise! Thank you Robert!! The best I could do......should've used a filter!

Four hundred feet below Bartlett Nab!

I am informed that the Black Browed Albatross was back on Staple Newk, but I didn't go and check it out. The dominant bird on the cliffs is the Gannet, many still servicing their young - Gugas.

Gannets

When a Gannet "sky points"......

...... it is an indication the Gannet is about to move or fly. When it flies it embarks on what I call the "Geronimo" leap, accompanied by a low cry

Skeins of Pink Footed Geese are now being seen over the reserve. Fulmars are also still present.

A random Magpie
