Bempton Cliffs Walk - 5th April 2022

Not a lot of motivation but lots of frustration on my walk to Bempton Cliffs this morning. The morning was rather dull, grey and cool in a moderate south westerly. There was only one vehicle in the car park, so I decided to head out to Staple Newk. As I approached New Rollup, the Black Browed Albatross was flying around Staple Newk, so I grabbed a few record shots. I'm glad I did because when I arrived at Staple Newk, the only birder there informed me that I had just missed it and the BBA had hidden itself on the cliffs! Alas the BBA remained hidden and frustratingly failed to show before I had to leave.

While waiting a pair of Razorbills entertained with some cloacal rubbing

Gannets are renowned for bringing "gifts" of endearment to their partners in order to cement their relationships. They are also renowned for stealing nest material from nearby nests! These Gannets are stealing materials and engaging in a tug of war as they both fancied the same material!
