Beast from the East (Day 4)

Wild and Bleak, Bempton Cliffs

Day 4 with the "Beast from the East" but the "Beast" is becoming much tamer! Very low temperatures have frozen the snow and its melt and the easterly wind has lowered its strength. It still looks wild and bleak as well as beautiful, with a few short showers of sleet and snow. My local exercise walk took in a circular route from Bempton, to and along the cliffs, Buckton Cliffs, Hoddy Cows Lane, Buckton and back to Bempton.

Cliff Lane, Bempton

Bempton Cliffs

Scarborough Castle is about 18miles from Bempton but showed well this morning!

A bleak Hoddy Cows Lane

Buckton Pond

Birds along the way:

Stonechat (male)

A few Fulmars on the ledges, but only these two Gannets at Jubilee Corner

And this Mistle Thrush at Buckton

The top soil landslip at Grandstand

Has anyone seen a large Brass Monkey in the Bempton and Buckton area? May be walking strangely with a pained expression! If so these may belong to him!

Please stay safe on your local exercise walk in nature.
