Beast from the East (Day 2)

Cliff Lane, Bempton

Well, we have now had some snow, albeit only 1-2cm with drifts up to kerb height! I think though, that we chose the right time (0730hrs) for our local exercise walk in nature, as mini blizzards have come and gone at regular intervals since we returned home. I can't say that the beast from the east this year is anything like that of a couple of years ago. However, my "big" coat is on standby!

Snowy Cliff Lane Bempton

"Virgin" snow at the top of Cliff Lane

Loving these patterns!

Even Bempton's mountains have snow on them! (Mole hill!).

Symphony seemed bemused about the snow!

Wintery Bempton Cliffs

The strong easterly wind has carried the snow and sleet inland with a few collections against vegetation etc. Indeed, there was more white on the sea than on the cliffs!

The top soil landslip at Grandstand continues to enlarge. It is difficult to take an image that shows the true extent of soil lost.

Very little on the cliffs with mainly Gannets in flight.

All images taken handheld with Sony RX10 mk4.

Please stay safe on your local exercise walk in nature.
