Bridlington Harbour and Bay - 5th December 2020

Purple Sandpiper

Market day so an early start in Bridlington. What promised to be a clear morning soon crashed as rain began to fall. Eventually the rain cleared allowing a walk around the harbour but hopes of a spectacular sunrise were dashed as the cloud base was rather thick. All was not lost and a few images were possible!

Waves breaking

The tide and waves were high and the birds took refuge where they could. Waders were mainly Redshank, Purple Sandpiper and Turnstone.

Turnstone

The regular Seal was present but did not wish to be photographed and spent long periods under water. Interestingly, a Porpoise was also present but these creatures rarely show more than their dorsal fins

Not a bad morning.......

All images taken handheld with my Sony RX10 mk4.

Stay safe
