Bridlington Harbour - 3rd June 2020

Summer Plumaged Turnstone

Well, today I came out of my "bubble" as we returned to work Bridlington Market. The ten mile return trip was the furthest I have been since lockdown and the furthest I have travelled in a vehicle for nearly ten weeks! A change in the weather as well with light but persistent rain throughout the day. Temperatures were also noticeably cooler - typical for Bridlington Market!

Today was also the first day since lockdown that I have not visited Bempton Cliffs. However, several walks around Bridlington Harbour made a welcome change, even though the birds present were not massive.

It was nice to see a summer plumaged Turnstone at low tide, even though the angles were all wrong!...

This Kittiwake, splodging through the mud caught my eye...

With more people venturing out and more take-aways opening, the urban Herring Gulls watch and wait!...
