Gannet with young Guga
Weather wise today, I had some good luck and some bad luck! Venturing out on my early morning walk to Bempton Cliffs and the first bit of good luck, the sea fret had, at last, moved on! There was, however, dull, cloudy conditions and a cool, strong, northerly blow. The second bit of good luck was getting home dry before the persistent rain set in! The bad luck came later in the day when we got soaked on Fraisthorpe Beach while giving Symphony a run, but that was compensated by a fish and chip lunch in Hornsea, albeit sat in the car. The next bad luck was not visiting Hornsea Mere as the rain continued heavy and persistent and we were already soaked!
Actually seeing the cliffs and the seabirds properly for the first time in four days felt quite novel!
I decided to do a study involving a pair of year four immature Gannets (Gannets mature at five years). I say a pair because these Gannets showed all the traits of mature Gannets with interactions and the bringing in "gifts"...
Young love! Let's hope it lasts!

A Canon 400mm 5.6 prime lens is far from ideal for landscapes, but being excited at no sea fret, I had a go!...
And finally, the following
is a rather blunt post. Some may say it is pointless!
Others may be convinced that I have a "post" fetish!
