Exercise Walks in May 2020

Puffin

I had a quick look at the weather forecast for early this morning and it said rain from 0600 until 0900hrs. No need to worry, it's usually wrong. It wasn't and yes it was heavy and yes we got wet! It wasn't too unpleasant though and we walked up Cliff Lane to the cliffs, so slightly shorter than planned. The plus side, and my objective, is to meet as few people as possible, hence the early starts and my objective was again met!

The RSPB car park has re-opened, but the visitor centre and facilities remain closed. I understand that the other carparks on the headland have also re-opened. I wonder if this is prevent some of the dangerous and idiotic parking that has been demonstrated?

Having received a soaking early on, I thought I would mention, that as I type this, the sun is shining and the sky is blue!

For most of the walk, my camera was undercover, but on the cliffs it was noticeable that there were quite a few "showy" Puffins. Despite the wet and dull conditions, I thought they might brighten up the day, so below are my efforts. Now that the sun is doing that job, I wonder why I bothered! C'est la vie!

Puffins in the rain...
