Celebrating Victory in Europe Day, RAF Bempton - 8th May 2020
VE75. RAF Bempton. "All Gave Some, Some Gave All". 8th May 2020.
I travelled the opposite journey from you (with some detours). I was stationed at RAF Bempton 1956-57. After University, I moved to Rugby to teach PE and English at Dunsmore School in 1963. I played for the Rugby Team there and had some great memories before moving on subsequently to Canada in 1966. malcolm Hughes
That's great to hear, Malcolm. As you can see from my images, RAF Bempton is now (shamefully) derelict and unloved. Graffiti is starting to appear on the external buildings, which is now on private land. It generates a lot of interest but is impossible to explore. Wishing you well and thank you for commenting and mentioning the reverse coincidence!
