Exercise Walks in May 2020

Wren belting out its song!

My sort of morning! Sunny, blue sky and increasing warmth after a cool 0600hrs start. Why do I go out so early? Simple, to avoid people! I am regarded as at risk should I contract Covid-19. I succeed for 95% of my walk but more people are arriving at Bempton with the lockdown adjustment, so I may have to set the alarm for earlier! If it gets to busy, I will stop going and find somewhere else (and I have that place in mind!).

Another quiet day, but I did get my first Willow Warbler singing, after an absence of several weeks. I failed to see the Lapwings nesting off Cliff Lane. Also, I am still seeing more predated eggs on the cliffs than brooded ones.

It was nice to see a Wheatear on the Headland Way cliff path...

Another Wren...

There seemed to be more Puffins showing themselves this morning...

Glorious Gannets...

Gannets ragging the clifftop vegetation...

A bit of an experiment, using my new iPhone 7
