Bempton Cliffs Walk (Birds) - 8th August 2024

Juv. Swallow

Sometimes wildlife can be very easy to photograph and this morning, a group of juvenile Swallows on Bempton Cliffs was just that! It would have been rude not to oblige!

At other times, it can be hard, as with this Marsh Harrier, hunting along the cliff top, images taken from c3/4 mile distant!

Gannets with Gugas

Some of the Gugas at Bartlett Nab have disappeared! They could have fallen from the ledges or predated by a Fox. This morning, the Fulmar chick at the same location was missing. It is possible that there may be a hidden tunnel in the rock, hidden by grass, that the Fulmar has retreated into. Most likely that it has either fallen or taken by the Fox. All that remains were a scattering of the Fulmars down. Sad, but nature can be very cruel.

Thank you for looking.
