Aspects of Bridlington Harbour and Bay - 18th August 2021

Purple Sandpiper

My market day wanders around the harbour coincided with a low tide' resulting in a few wader species. It may be late summer in the human calendar, but it is autumn in nature and hopefully wader passage will increase. Today I spotted my first Purple Sandpiper of the autumn, but a close pose was prevented when the bird was disturbed by human activity. Other waders included Redshank, Turnstone and Oystercatcher.

Loving the patterns!

Oystercatcher

Human attempts to deter birds from nesting are futile as demonstrated here with a Kittiwake Tarrock!

Human detritus confusing sadly nature
