Bempton Birder on Vacation in North West Norfolk

 Day 3 - Titchwell Marsh, 6th June 2021

Sedge Warbler

You cannot visit north Norfolk and not visit the RSPB reserve of Titchwell Marsh. Although it was Sunday, and would probably be busy, we decided to visit as the weather forecast promised cloudy skies, thus cooler but becoming sunny and very warm by mid afternoon. Early doors it was then! I couldn't believe how dry the pools were! Some had disappeared from the wildfowl marshes, and those on the reserve were just mud with small pools of water. Not many birds either, although we did manage year ticks in the form of Bittern (booming), Bearded Tit and Sandwich Tern. A tad early for returning waders!

Titchwell Beach

Something I've known about but never seen, the remains of a WW2 tank on Titchwell Beach. A bit of WD40 and elbow grease and it would be good to go 😇
