Bempton Birder on Vacation in North West Norfolk

 Day 5 - Ken Hill Marshes, 8th June 2021

Avocet

Another early start due to the very hot weather, parking at the "free" car park at Ken Hill Wood and walking through the woods and down to the Ken Hill Marshes. Lovely fields of poppies as we walked, Jays flying about and some evidence of Springwatch filming.

Year tick birds today were Spoonbill and (after much searching) Curlew Sandpiper. I have to say that these marshes are excellent, but a scope is needed to see the distant edges.

I think I prefer this site to nearby Titchwell!
