Bempton Birder on Vacation in North West Norfolk.

 Day 5 - Dersingham Bog, 8th June 2021

Nightjar

A late evening to Dersingham Bog, predominantly to enjoy being bitten to death by hordes of hungry midges, but also with the possibility of seeing Woodcock and Nightjars. Yes, we enjoyed all three!

Adorned with midge / insect repellent and mosquito net head covers,  into the bog we ventured and were not to be disappointed by the biting midges. Despite our measures, they got to our flesh, even managing to make to to some intimate places! We also scored with Woodcocks and Nightjars, both putting on wonderful flight displays and both calling.

Unfortunately, as is the case with low light photography, images are far from good, but they are record shots!
