Aspects of Bridlington Harbour & Bay - 11th February 2023

Not a bad start to the day, bright and sunny with a cooling westerly blow. The pre-sunrise was more spectacular than the actual sunrise which was delayed by thick cloud on the horizon and when it appeared was far too bright! Several walks around the harbour first taking in the sunrise, then witnessing a drama unfold, and finally capturing some of the birds (subject of another blog post).

A random image from the harbour!

Dramatic scenes this morning with a life saving rescue just off the harbour entrance. Great respect to the joint emergency services (coastguard, lifeboat, ambulance service, police) who successfully pulled a man from the water. The victim had been seen by nearby fishermen to intentionally jump off the harbour wall into the very cold sea. They threw a life line before raising the alarm. I have posted some images without identifying the man rescued. I hope he gets the help he needs. Very well done to all concerned.

Thank you for looking.
