Thornwick Pool, Flamborough - 12th May 2022

Sedge Warbler

A late start to the day! Symphony was due at the groomers in Flamborough at 1200hrs for a two hour pampering session. This gave me the opportunity of spending some time at Thornwick Pool. Well, I'll never get that 90 minutes back! I should've taken a paint brush and paint and watched the paint dry 😇! I had hoped for some waders, but none, not even Little Ringed Plover! It was watching and listening to Sedge Warblers calling on their territories around the pool and seeing my first Reed Warbler of the year, so far only heard them.

Reed Warbler (Distant)

Pied Wagtail

Coot

Mallard

Herring Gull

No wonder I was on my own!

When I returned home, I lay in a dark room with a cold compress in order to reduce my excitement 😇!

All images taken handheld with Canon 7D Mk2 and 400mm 5.6mm prime lens.
