Bempton Cliffs Walk (Wildlife) - 27th May 2022

Corn Bunting

A very pleasant start to the day with sunshine and blue sky but a cool south westerly blow. Even at 0500hrs, the reserve was rather busy and the "hoggers" are back. You know, those that "hog" the best parts of the viewing platforms, and spread their gear so it is difficult for others to see the best. It is normally birder/photographer, big lens/scope, large tripod, large rucksack and taking up the space of three! And of course, there for hours or longer!

I had another go at birds in flight, using some adjusted settings, but still having difficulty with the Auks!

Kittiwakes

Fulmars

Gannets

Guillemots

Razorbill

Puffin

Herring Gull

Brown Hare

All images taken handheld with Sony RX10 Mk4.

  1. Absolutely stunning images. Much better than I would imagine the 'hoggers ' can produce. Leave them to it. Anne Lomax

  2. Thank you Anne. Interestingly, the "hoggers" rarely speak, other than a begrudging grunt in acknowledgement to a good morning!

  3. Sounds about right. They are too busy taking themselves very seriously.
