Bempton Cliffs Walk (Wildlife) - 22nd July 2022

Barn Owl

A rather grey, dull and cloudy start to the morning, but still very mild. Our walk took us to the cliffs via Blakehowe Lane, Stonepit Lane and the permissive path through Metlands. Return was the reverse. All of the usual farmland birds were present. Best were Marsh Harrier (year tick), Hobby, Barn Owl (2) and I suppose the long staying Red Tailed (Turkestan) Shrike! I showed some interest in the Shrike (a bird I haven't purposely sought out), while chatting to father and (very enthusiastic) son we met as we walked the permissive path, and it would've been rude not to gain a few record images!
