Lake District Sojourn (Wasdale Head & Wastwater) - 8th June 2022

Old Packhorse Bridge, Wasdale Head

A "challenging" drive to Wasdale Head and Wastwater on the only day that we had to break out our waterproofs, albeit briefly! Wasdale and Wastwater are renowned for either fantastically clear days or atmospheric days. There was no hope of seeing the "tops" of the iconic mountains that majestically form Wasdale! I suppose today was "atmospheric!

Wastwater

Wastwater Screes. There is a footpath running over the lower slopes of the famous scree and I have memories of walking this route while on a school trip, over fifty years ago! No hard hats or ropes in those days!
