Lake District Sojourn 3rd - 10th June 2022

Steam Boat Gondola, Coniston Water

Away from Bempton for a week, staying in the lovely village of Coniston. Our last visit to the Lakes was back in 2018, our last visit prior to that was probably thirty years ago, and before that, cycling tours in the 80's, and school trips in the 70's. You could say that we are not regular visitors! Lots of changes though, more people and traffic, but an ancient infra-structure begging to be improved, but impossible due to nature's restraints. At times our travel was "stressful"! This blog page concentrates on our time spent in and around the village and lake. Our walks were all "lowland" as age and ability serves strict limitations. The weather for the Lakes was exemplary with only a couple of occasions requiring brief waterproof wearing.

Not a bad view from our cottage!
