Lake District Sojourn (Coniston Coppermines) - 9th June 2022

Male Common redstart

Over fifty years ago I stayed with a school group at Conniston Coppermines youth hostel. Then it was all gas lighting and log fires. I have been meaning to return to the coppermines valley and today I got the chance! A few changes with electricity now supplied and nearby buildings renovated to provide expensive holiday lets. Thankfully, the road up the valley is still a rough stony track.
