Bempton Cliffs Walk - 3rd March 2022

Gannets

Another dull, grey start to the day, but slightly milder than of late. No hope of a sunrise but a hint of brightness did improve things. One of the Short-eared Owls hunted close the Owl viewing area, while overhead, c120 Pink Footed Geese flew west. The cliff ledges were fantastic with thousands of Auks (Razorbills & Guillemots) on the ledges, sea and in flight. Plenty of Gannets as well but Fulmar numbers seemed lower than recently. The cliff ledge "chorus" sounded fantastic! Over the grasslands, several Skylarks sang out. I didn't see any Puffins or Kittiwakes, they'll probably be reported later 😇.
