Some Time in Scarborough - 5th February 2022

Had a walk, with Symphony, around Scarborough, starting at the harbour, then moving to Scalby Mills for a walk back through the open air theatre, around Peasholm Park and back to Scalby Mills. An overcast morning with a cold wind.

At the harbour, this seal was hauled out on the slipway between Sandside and Marine Drive. Although initially it was moving around (when these images were taken), it later appeared lethargic and unwell. There was enough concern to report it to the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR). I do not know the outcome as I had to return home, but I hope all was well. These images were taken from a distance, so as not to cause distress to the animal, with my 400mm prime lens.

A Great Northern Diver was eventually found in the harbour

And of course Turnstone

At Scalby Mills, what else but Wigeon!

I was disappointed to see that the boating lake near the open air theatre had been drained!
