A Few Days Around Durham - 30th January - 1st February 2022

A very pleasant few days spent in the Durham area visiting Abigail, who has recently purchased a house in the village of Sacriston, just outside Durham. The time was spent between obtaining decorating ideas, purchasing a few items for the house and some very pleasant walks around the village and in Durham. I like Durham, it is one of my favourite cities. This post is a mixture of traditional "touristy" images and also some of the wildlife we spotted along the way.

The three females that rule my life 😇!

From a pleasant walk near Sacriston (including above image)

A riverside walk along the Wear in Durham gave us a few birding year ticks - Kingfisher, Goosander, Goldcrest and Dabchick.

Something strange by the River Wear!

Durham Castle

Durham Cathedral (sorry about the "tilts")

I was intrigued by the "Sanctuary Knocker" on the Cathedral door! I pondered if it would be beneficial to those who "offend" on social media 😇!
