Bempton Cliffs Circular Walk - 7th October 2021

 

Whooper Swans

A pleasant morning for my circular walk and some nice birds to be seen. Started off with Lesser Whitethroat in "washing machine dell", and several Chiffchaffs. I had hoped for Barred Warbler and Yellow Browed Warbler but these didn't show until I was miles way!

Year tick was Whooper Swan, well eleven, heading north west from the cliffs


Best bird of the day was Jay, not one, not two, not three, but FOUR! Standing chatting to Mark Thomas at Hoddy Cows Spring, we spotted one then...........! Locally rare on the headland with probably no more than three recorded in a year, so  good record. Tried for record shots and the result was
