RSPB Bempton Cliffs - 30th May 2021

Guillemots, Puffin, Kittiwake

Literally, a day of two halves! The morning consisted of a typical sea fret, burning off late morning and becoming a very pleasant, sunny late spring day. It was very busy on the reserve resulting in all three car parks opening and filling very quickly. The birds performed well, with all breeding seabirds present and easily viewable, including the Puffins so no one went home unhappy! A report came in, late morning, of TWELVE, yes 12, Bee eaters flying over Staple Newk! Well and truly gripped off as I haven't seen even one! Another visitor stated they had also been heard over the car park!

Puffintastic!

Immature Gannets tend to form "clubs", similar to a youth club, and it is here that first love is often found. Here, year 4 Gannets "try it out"!
