RSPB Bempton Cliffs - 23rd May 2021

Kittiwake

Is it really May? It feels more like October / November than nearly summer! Today was a tad cool with an annoying south westerly blow, but the morning was sunny, deteriorating to dull and rain showers throughout the afternoon.

All of the breeding seabirds were present but yet again, the Puffins and Fulmars chose to be a tad elusive! It was a bit of a Kittiwake day - they were everywhere, ragging the cliff tops and fields collecting vegetation and mud, on the cliffs and in large rafts on the sea.
