A Walk to Bempton Cliffs - 27th May 2021

Gannet

A dull, cloudy and cool start to the day but improving quickly to sunny intervals and much milder. I had intended to walk the Bempton circular but muddy paths changed my plan to returning home on firmer roads. Yesterday, a male Red Backed Shrike was found on the cliff tops and showed very well to admiring birders. Would it be present today? Yes, but at a much greater distance allowing only record shots, but a two year tick and my first male!

All of the breeding seabirds were present and showing well and one of the Barn Owls put in an appearance.
