Out and About dipping into Filey and Scarborough Areas

Fem Blackcap

A cold but sunny morning had me leaving the safety of Bempton and venturing into parts of Filey and Scarborough! My first stop was Filey Dams which was quiet, but I did manage year ticks of Reed Warbler and Shelduck. It felt quite strange not entering the hides but making use of the small viewing screens. My next stop was Seamer Pool which was also quiet, but year ticks here were Lesser Whitethroat and Sedge Warbler. I also managed a life tick in the form of Paul Tozer, nice to chat with you Paul! My hat trick of quiet places continued at Burton Riggs and then as a bonus, Seamer Mere, but I did manage two Garden Warblers. I finished off at Holbeck and a walk east along the Cleveland Way and continuing the theme of the day, it was quiet! Okay, so it was quiet, but it was good to be out and about and the walks were pleasant! The birds I did see and hear decided that this was the their day to be camera shy!
