Thornwick Pool, Flamborough - 10th August 2020

Common Sandpiper

An early evening visit to Thornwick Pool in order to year tick a few waders. It has been a long while since I visited this site, due to lockdown, but now the hide is open, albeit for standing only! I'm just regaining my confidence of returning to hides. Although it has been c5months since my last visit, I had forgotten two important points - (1) at this time of day you are looking into the sun and (2) it is larger than you think, and I failed to bring my scope! Photography was going to be a challenge, worsened by my lens and camera intermittently failing to communicate!

Still, four year ticks in the form of Little Stint, Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper and Ruff.

I have to say that my images are rather, how can I put it, crap! At best just record shots!
