Bempton Circular Walk - 21st August 2020

With "Armageddon" force winds forecast, I decided on a "see how it goes" around my Bempton Circuit this morning, cutting short if conditions became too bad! I need not have worried! Yes the the wind was a strong south westerly but I've known worse, and my circular was completed without worries. And it didn't rain!

Thank goodness for the Gannets! On the ledges, in the air and on the sea, they are now the dominant birds. Kittiwakes are really thinning out now, a few Fulmars and I haven't had a Shag for ages. The wind was strong enough to keep the Passerines in cover, with very few brave enough to show.

Gannet Life Continues

Year 3 Gannets

Year 4 Gannet Clinging On!

Year 5+ (Adult Gannets in flight)

On the ledges, the Gannet young (Gugas) continue in their development from the still very young

To the almost ready to fledge

And all in between

The Sunflowers on Hoddy Cows Lane are still cheering

Whilst out and about, I look for things that are different. I suppose it could be classed as artistic or as I call it "arty farty"!

Simplicity (Feather in the wind)

Rustic (Hoping for luck)

Till next time.................................................
