Ardnamurchan Adventures 20th - 27th May 2019 (Part 3)

Wood Warbler

An optional pre-breakfast walk from 0630 was a daily activity in the vicinity of the bunkhouse. It was also an opportunity to make yourself available s breakfast to the famous Scottish midges! Proprietary creams and sprays had little effect on these endearing insects that descended as soon as flesh was presented! The walk usually went down to the shores of Loch Sunart, the exceptions being a walk in part of the RSPB Glenborrodale reserve and a walk up to Glen Borrodale proper.

Wood Warbler - It has been many years since I have seen or heard this species!

Male Bullfinch in RSPB Glenborrodale

This friendly Robin no doubt had hungry mouths to feed!

A difficult bird to photograph, this was the best I could do with this Tree Pipit!

A non-native Deer species seen around Glenborrodale is Pere David's Deer
