Bempton Cliffs Walk (Gannets & Gugas) - 29th August 2023

A dull, grey, cloudy, but mild start to the day. The cliffs and ledges have seen a "clear out" of birds, as the breeding season comes to an end. The greatest number of birds are the Gannets with their young (Gugas), and they will remain until the end of October. Fulmars, Shags and Herring Gulls also remain, with lessening numbers of Kittiwakes. On the sea, Auks (Razorbills & Guillemots) can still be seen.

The "whiter" a Guga is the younger it is, the "darker" it is the older it is.
