Meadow Pipit
The effects of "lockdown" are being felt now with so many people in self isolation and wondering how long this virus will last. I suppose it will continue until immunity is gained, either by suffering the disease or vaccination, however long that will take. With pleasant spring weather arriving, it will be very hard for those who cannot go outside. Here in Bempton, we are very lucky, sparsely populated and huge areas of open space on our doorstep. For those who can, nature, wide open spaces and fresh air are great for our well being. If you are in isolation, I hope that my blog may go some way to help you find refreshment and enable you to look forward to the end of this horrendous crisis.
Birds in the garden can be very entertaining!
The Lovers!
The Acrobat! This Rook comes every day but cannot master the feeders and goes away hungry
The Songster!
Bempton is lucky to have Barn Owls in the area. This one was captured in the golden rays of early morning sun, albeit at a distance.
Surrounded by farmland, birds are never far away, and can provide some excellent natural colour
Yellowhammer
Goldfinch
Blue Tit
Wren
Meadow Pipit
A very distant, heavily cropped Corn Bunting
One thing that is certain, the sun will set and the sun will rise! Sometimes the effects are spectacular, sometimes mediocre and sometimes not even noticed! If you are an early riser, like me, you can enjoy this, often without leaving the house.
How are things affecting me? Well, I may be starting to crack. You will remember near the top of this post an image of the lovers? Well, entertainment continues with watching Wood Pigeon porn! How sad am I?
Please, stay safe and follow the current government guidelines.
