Lockdown Birding 17th - 18th April 2020

Wheatear

My permitted health / exercise walk around the "patch" continues. I'm now walking further and more regularly but I'm not sure Symphony is that appreciative! You never know what will turn up, when and for how long. Likewise, you cannot tell how receptive migrant birds will be in having images taken!

My closest views this year of a Wheatear

Along Hoddy Cows Lane, between the SSSI and the cliff top, is a boggy area with some undrained water. Up until now, the only bird I have seen on it has been an immature Herring Gull! I was, however, surprised and delighted to find a Dunlin !

Followed by my first Yellow Wagtail of the year!

I have been seeing Ring Ousels on a regular basis but always distant and nervous. I managed to capture this one, my first image this year, albeit distant and heavily cropped!

Corn Buntings seem to have increased on my walk, singing out, but this was the best image I could manage!

Please stay safe.
