Lockdown Birding 11th - 12th April 2020

Male Greenfinch

Easter weekend and what should have been a very busy time, particularly in the leisure and retail industries. Crowds would normally be seen jostling each other in the tourist honeypots, especially as we are also experiencing a spell of decent weather after a rather challenging winter. Alas, it is not to be. We are all in lockdown, probably dreading news updates and wondering how long it will be before we are free again. However, the natural world continues without us and some would say for the better! We are luckier than many, sparse population and wide open spaces on our doorsteps. Thankfully, we also have a small garden and the privilege of a permitted exercise walk.

Even the common and expected birds can raise the spirits!
