Bempton Cliffs Sunrise Walk (Birds) - 17th January 2023

Guillemot

A cold and frosty morning, but bright and invigorating for a sunrise walk to Bempton Cliffs. THe sunrise was good and is the subject of another blog post. Despite the bright conditions post sunrise, the cliff areas remained quite dark and a challenge for photography. On the ledges were several Guillemots and Fulmars were also in good numbers. I got my first Gannets of the year, distant and in flight, but I'm sure it wont be long before they arrive back on their nests. Where are the passerines though? Very few seen throughout the walk which included Hoddy Cows Lane.
