Dipper, Scalby Mills

A general wander around Scarborough, taking in the harbour, sea front to Holbeck and finishing with a visit to Scalby Mills. Low tide at the harbour (first visit) produced a Redshank and a Razorbill.

South Bay had several distant Red Throated Divers. Also on the exposed rocks were Oystercatcher, Redshank, Dunlin, Curlew and this Grey Heron.

Second visit to the harbour (high tide) and a brief visit from a Red Throated Diver, The harbour rocks had c20 Purple Sandpipers and a lone Redshank.

Scalby Beck was in good flow and it was amusing to see the speed that this Cormorant swam down at

Eventually a Dipper (or Diaper, as I reported on Scarborough Birds App! Should've worn my glasses! It was interesting to see the Dipper swimming and feeding in both fresh and sea water.
