Red Flanked Bluetail, South Landing, Flamborough - 8th November 2021

A little outside of my comfort zone, I joined the masses attempting to see the Red Flanked Bluetail at South Landing. Well, it was a life tick and a fantastic bird! Arrived at 0715hrs and already the free car parking was taken so I ended up having to pay 😡. The bird was really quite flighty near the picnic benches and I wondered how the excellent images of the last few days were obtained. However, the bird eventually showed well albeit for a few milliseconds! Crowds of birders and photographers are not for me, neither is standing in one spot for hours on end. I managed three hours before heading home - luckily, the bird showed well before I left. No sign, however, of the Taiga Flycatcher.

The above are "OK" images, but here are my best 😇

All images taken with Canon 7D Mk2 and 400mm 5.6 lens.
