My second wander around Bridlington Harbour is usually in daylight and therefore I get a good look at any birds present. It was high tide and the only birds on the water were Mallard, a Cormorant, Herring Gulls and Black Headed Gulls. A few more Cormorants, Herring Gulls and Great Black Backed Gulls occupied the roof of the fish dock warehouse. Where would the waders be?
Turnstone were the easiest to locate
The Redshanks were found at roost behind the fish dock
And with some Dunlin
My search for Purple Sandpipers was a little harder! I found them on the harbour wall off the north pier. To see them required me to hang over the side and surprisingly, they numbered c30, the most I have seen in the harbour! Luckily, I didn't overbalance!
