At One With All Nature

Guillemot

Another fantastic, cold and frosty morning, but a slightly later start than normal for my exercise walk. The sunrise did not look very promising from the house but how wrong I was! The later start meant that the sun was appearing as I arrived at the bottom of Cliff Lane, so I had to be quick as the brightness increased the risk of blown out images!

The cliffs at Bempton were alive with birds with the "guttural growling" of thousands of Guillemots on the ledges, on the sea and in flight!

Gannet numbers are now increasing with some flying close to the cliffs so it will only be a matter of weeks before they return to the ledges

And of course, the Fulmars

The mixed flocks of "seed eaters" are also increasing
